Signed by Lloyd Loar on July 9, 1923 (the same date as Bill Monroe's Loar). Serial Number 73728. Triple ply binding on top, body and side of neck. Single bound headstock. Traditional Flowerpot inlays in headstock, Original tuners with solid MOP tuner buttons, tailpiece & adjustable ebony bridge. Spruce top. Flamed maple back, sides & neck. Repaired crack in bass side F-hole (spruce cleat under the top). There is also a crack under the pick guard parallel to the fingerboard (Approximately 1 inch long) this crack was professionally repaired by Randy Wood. Some arm wear on upper bass bout. Full tone with ringing "bell like" highs, and very rich woody presence. Price reduced to $222,400.00 w/ two cases - the original red-lined rectangular case & a deluxe Calton case. |
