Exc(-) condition. Montana made in the Flatiron facility in 1996. Label signed by Bruce Weber. Burgundy sunburst. Flat Ebony fingerboard with traditional double-cut extension and dot inlays. Flowerpot inlaid in peghead. The Gibson logo inlaid in peghead. Top bound with ivoroid binding. Flamed Maple back, sides and neck, with Sitka Spruce top. Small early style fretwire. Ebony 2-pc bridge.
The top and back are pretty nice, with only some minor blemishes from handling. Back of neck and inside of treble cutaway show some wear of lacquer - it looks like one layer of lacquer was partially worn through, exposing a lower layer. Minor touch marks and dings around instrument at edges. w/ OHCThis mandolin sounds very good, with a quick attack, good strong tone and a great chop. It is set up well and plays well with low action.
