     The Alvarez pickup system is quite good. Control panel has volume slider and two tone sliders. There is also a built-in electronic tuner that works really well. It even works without being plugged in... you just push a button to turn on the tuner, tune the instrument, then turn it off.
     This guitar is in very nice condition, with no problems and no repairs.

     Exc(++) Condition. There is one very small ding on the lower side of the guitar. No fret wear, no other marks.

     This is a "hot" guitar. It is quick on the draw and has a fast, abrupt, solid attack with good depth and good growly resonance. There is not much difference in this guitar and getting a brand new one... except that the price on this one is very low.
 

     "As New" condition. This is a very nice instrument that has great sound and is in great original condition.
     Beautiful Mahogany back and sides, with a highly figured Mahogany neck. Solid Sitka Spruce top with lots of side ray "silk". Breedlove logo pearl inlay in peghead, small tasteful pearl dots in fingerboard, with extra flourish of pearl inly at 12th fret. Not sure of the tuner brand, but they work very well.

     This is a fine bass. It is in great original condition and plays and sounds great. The timbre from even the lower strings has a great growl. This latest series of the BJ-350 has been "re-adjusted" to be not only significantly lighter, but also much more resonant, and this shows in the great sound.

     This is a very good handmade guitar. The woods are high-grade, the aesthetics are pleasing, the craftsmanship is very high, and best of all, the performance and delivery of good solid tone are very nice. I am very serious in saying that we delayed listing this guitar for a week or two because I was trying to figure out a way for my wife to let me keep it...
     Mr. Lynch has told us that he may be retiring due to health. The last few of these Lynch Mahogany Dreadnauts were sold to customers by Mr Lynch for $2400. This one is pretty clean and has great sound... for lots less.

     It's always been a little bit funny how so many people buy Collings guitars with Adirondack Red Spruce tops as if it is a necessity. Sure, they sound great... but so do the Sitka topped models like this one. Powerful and full sound with lots of 'gusto', without the longer break-in periods for Adirondack.

     This guitar just arrived and the first guy to play it here was one of our favorite players, Bill Neaves. He took it into the studio to record some sound samples and quickly announced that he really liked it and that it was a very strong guitar.
     In general, D-1A's have almost become the "standard" of the modern Mahogany Dreadnaut guitars. They are known for their thunderous sound, much like the revered pre-war D-18's of the 1930's and early 1940's.

     New. Really, what can I say about a guitar like this...? If you are reading this, you probably already know Collings' guitars, and possibly have played and heard a D-1A.
     If you already are familiar with these models, you don't need to be told about their tone and power and projection.
     If you are not familiar with them, please read on:
     D-1A's have established themselves as one of the hottest flatpicking guitars ever designed and built. They deliver a crisp, bold attack, with plenty of "boom" in the lower register. They have depth to balance the clear, clean highs.
     When brand new, these Adirondack top D-1A's sound great, but after a few months of being "alive", they begin to open up tremendously, with the attack changing to be more full and less strident. After one year they are on their way to being fully opened-up, but it is really after about 2 years that you begin to hear the guitar sounding more like a true vintage sound than a new guitar.
     Seriously... I rank these guitars in highest category of Mahogany Dreadnaut, and cannot think of a rival guitar that out performs them.
     High grade Mahogany back, sides and neck. "AAA" Adirondack Red Spruce top with very wide grain lines throughout. Ebony fingerboard and bridge and peghead overlay. Graduated pearl dot inlays in fingerboard. Nickel Waverly tuners. Bone nut and intonated saddle.
     The designation, "VN", means "Vintage Now" neck profile. This means that this guitar has 1 3/4" width at nut and also has a slightly larger neck profile in your hands. The neck isn't really thick, because the "Vintage Now" profile is close to a 1930's and 1940's Martin profile that was 'in-between' the really wide and thick necks and the later slimmer necks from around 1940 and on.

Here's a chance to own a basically brand new (2012) Collings at about $600 less than a new one. This guitar is in "as new" condition... No marks, nicks or scratches. Frets show only the very slightest sign of wear and could be easily made new again with a light milling.

     We have been ordering some of these D-2H guitars with German tops for a few years now, and have been very happy with every one. In today's excitement of ordering instruments, many people just think that Adirondack Red Spruce is the "best" tonewood for a top. This is not true at all. Red Spruce has many desirable characteristics, but so does German Spruce, Lutz Spruce, Italian Spruce, Englemann Spruce, and Sitka Spruce.
     Most of today's Collings guitars made with Red Spruce require a fairly lengthy 'break-in' period because the wood is so hard and stiff (longitudinally and laterally). German Spruce, however, allows you to enjoy a more "open" sound right away, as the characteristics of the Spruce are allowing it to be more resonant more quickly.
     The German Spruce Collings guitars have a very nice "growl" and "snarl" and very strong expressive highs... and gives it to you at a price $450 LOWER than if you choose Red Spruce. Don't get me wrong, I love Red Spruce... but it is impossible to ignore how great German Spruce sounds when compared to Red Spruce. Time after time here in our store we've listened to them compared to each other, and had the German Spruce guitar "win" against Red Spruce.
 

     New. Traditional "OM" body with 24 7/8" scale length and German Spruce top.
     We've been very impressed with this formula of the 14-fret OM body with short scale for some time. It is very apparent how the scale length allows more warmth and a slightly looser feel. It works well with fingerpicking as well as strumming or flatpicking.
     German Spruce is quite an excellent tone wood. It 'breaks-in' relatively fast and conveys very good strength and growl.

     Comes set-up with an excellent professional pick-up system. Professionally installed K&K pickup wired to a Crown GLM microphone element. The K&K piezo elements are mounted onto the bridgeplate, while the Crown mic is clipped to a back brace with mic aimed up toward the soundhole.
     The sound of this fine Mahogany OM is really great. It has opened-up very well and is fully resonant. It is very well balanced, with big bold bass notes and clear, clean expressive highs. Lots of sound with fast, sure attack. Besides the utility of this instrument, it is also one of the most handsome guitars we've had in here in some time.
     The new selling price for this guitar (including the nice pickup system), is $4900 - $5000. This one is very close to "newish" condition, AND  comes with about $300 worth of excellent electronics installed, for only $3850.
     To me, this guitar has everything - great unique "look", great feel and set-up, great "opened-up" tone, great electronics and great price.
    

     Exc.(+) Condition. The top, back and sides are all very clean with just slight scratches from playing. The neck and frets are in great condition as well. There is one hole drilled in the top of the body from where the pickguard was installed. The original pickguard comes in the case.
     Flamed Maple top, back and sides with antique brown sunburst. Top, back, fretboard and peghead are all multiple bound with tortoise-shell. The inside of the f-holes are also bound with tortoise-shell. Mahogany neck with radiused Rosewood fingerboard and elaborate "Tree of Life" inlay in Pearl across the fretboard. Tune-o-matic bridge, 2 "magnaflux" humbucking pickups and 5-way selector.
     The most interesting part about this guitar is the two "MPC Effect Modules" installed in the guitar. There is a cavity in the back where there are two spots for different Electra effects that are easily removed and replaced. There are twelve different modules that can be put in the guitar, this particular Electra has the "phase shifter" and "power overdrive" modules. These modules are controlled and bypassed by the two levers on the body and the volume of the effects is controlled by the knobs. This is an interesting idea, but there are far better ways to add effects to a guitar line nowadays. The modules are more of a cool and innovative thing as opposed to a really great sounding electronics system. The good thing is that Electra didn't rely on building guitars with effects in them as their selling point. The guitar sounds great alone, much better than with the effects activated. The sound is really thick, with many different tonal variations from the 5 way selector. The effects are fun, and definitely worth playing around with but this guitar does not need any help to sound great.

     Exc. Condition (Professional Refinish.) Top playing condition, with no issues, nothing needed. Guitar refinished some time ago by a professional. It appears to be a beautiful, hand-rubbed finish. All-original parts.
     Spruce top, flamed Maple back. Fully bound top, back, neck and peghead. Matching cream heelcap Top and back show multiple black lines inside the outer binding.      Exc.(-) Condition. There is moderate lacquer checking on the front and back, but hardly any dents or dings. There are some small holes drilled where a handrest used to be. There are also two holes near the fretboard and one on the side as the result of a former pickguard. The neck has a couple of marks on it but is in good overall shape. No fret wear.
     Maple body with sunburst finish and bindings on the top and back. Single humbucker pickup in the neck position. Master volume and tone knobs, and "bass boost" switch. One-piece Mahogany neck. Radiused Rosewood fingerboard with pearl dot inlays. Original Nickel tuners. Ebony peghead overlay with Epiphone logo inlay.
     This is a really nice sounding and nice playing bass. These Epiphone basses were made at the Gibson factory in Kalamazoo, and are often held in higher regards than the Gibson basses of the period. It currently has flatwound strings that sound great.

     Erickson 10 string pedal steel in great condition. No large marks or scratches, everything is in fine playing condition. 3 floor pedals, 2 knee levers.

     Exc(+) Condition. A touch or two on the front and back of body. Minimal player wear. There are a few dents on the back of the neck, but they are slight and are positioned where they are not a problem to your left hand when playing.
     Solid Ash body. Humbucking pickup in the neck position, single coil in the bridge. Very nice traditional 3-color sunburst. Maple neck with Rosewood fingerboard and dot inlays. Pearloid pick guard, and Fender Nickel tuners.
     This is a really nice American Teleaster for a reasonable price. Good feel, with the classic look of a sunburst tele.

     Mint condition. Looks like it's never been played.
     Alder body with deep blue finish. 21 fret Maple neck with medium jumbo frets and Rosewood fingerboard. Three single-coil pickups with two tone knobs, a master volume knob and a 5-way switch.
     Nice Mexican Strat. Plays, looks and sounds very good.

     Exc(-) condition. Everything is very nice on this guitar, but it does have one modification. The singlecoil bridge pickup was replaced with a Seymour Duncan Humbucking p/u.
     Beautiful Shoreline Gold finish with pearloid multiple layer pickguard. All original and stock, except the aforementioned pickup change. Maple neck. Very little sign of fret wear. This is a nice guitar in nice condition that is set up very well. Has a special anniversary sticker behind peghead that reads,  "50 years of Excellence".

     New Condition. Hardly any signs this guitar was ever played. 60th anniversary 1951 Fender Tele Re-issue. Black pickguard blonde finish. No sign of playing on fretboard or body.
    Ash body with see-through blonde finish. Maple neck with radiused fingerboard and black dot inlays. B/W/B pickguard. Two single coil pickups with 3-way switch and master volume and tone knobs. "Fender 60th anniversary" commemorative neck plate.
     Nice tele reissue, it has the same great look and feel as the 1951 originals. Sounds great, plays great.

     VG+ condition. Refinished with brushed-on varnish. Typical black guard tele with nice medium weight. Top and back have a reasonable amount of scratches and dings. There are no glaring cosmetic flaws, the guitar is in great shape overall.
     Ash body, figured Maple neck. Black dots inlaid in fingerboard. Almost all original parts, including tuners, bridge, pickguard, etc. Replaced tone knob.

     Exceptional Original Condition. This could easily pass for a new guitar.
     Spruce top with Herringbone binding. Nice Mahogany back, sides and neck. Ivoroid binding on top, back and peghead. Decorative center-seam inlay down back. Radiused Ebony fretboard with pearl dot inlays. Mahogany peghead overlay with Gallagher logo inlaid. Schaller tuners.
     Nice sound. Great for flatpicking, good for fingerpicking. Nice low action, the truss rod responds very well to adjustments. This guitar has MORE snap in the attack and MORE projection than I usually expect to hear.
 

     Exc. Condition. Only slight evidence of player wear on frets only. The body just has a couple of small touch marks and that's it. No cracks, no repairs.
     Similar body size to a 000.  24 3/4" scale length. 1 3/4" nut width. Neck is a rounded V shape. Ivoroid bindings on top and back of body, along fingerboard, and around peghead. Herringbone purfling along top edge and soundhole rossette. Rosewood peghead overlay with Gallagher logo inlaid, and "flourish" in the middle. Ebony fingerboard with "diamond" and "cat-eye" inlay. Diamond volute on underside of peghead. Ebony bridge with two Abalone dots inlaid. Ebony heelcap. Ebony end wedge meitered in with multiple wood edging. Decorative back strip along center of back.      Nice sound with lots of resonance.

     Good condition. Several professionally repaired top cracks. One repaired back crack. Heavy signs of wear on body and neck of guitar. The finish is checked and dinged. The finish on the neck is almost completely worn through, but the frets are in great shape. The banner headstock is in good condition, although dinged up a little. Remnants of artwork on the pickguard.
     Spruce Top. Maple back, sides and neck. Three piece neck with Rosewood stringers. Newer copy Rosewood bridge. Single binding on top and back of body. Rosewood fretboard with pearl dot inlays. Peghead with original tuners - "D" string tuner has bent shaft, but still tunes well. "Only A Gibson Is Good Enough" banner in headstock. 24 3/4" scale length, 1 3/4" width at nut.
     This is a great guitar if you look past the few flaws in it's appearance. The sound is gorgeous, with more openness and less of the boxiness that this style of Gibson is known for. Recent professional neck reset, fret job, bridge, braces glued, etc. In short, it's set-up wonderfully and has a great sound.

     Exc(-) condition. Three repaired cracks in the top - one parallel to center seam from bass side of bridge to the lower binding, and two that are along the Spruce grain between soundhole and waist on bass side. Original parts and original finish. Finish shows finish checking throughout. Peghead shows some lacquer chips at edge and some wear from leaning against walls.
     Mahogany back, sides and neck, with Spruce top. Rosewood fingerboard and bridge. 1 5/8" width at nut. Multiple bindings on top and back. single binding along fingerboard. "B-band" pickup installed professionally in guitar.
     This is a very good sounding guitar. It has a strong bold attack, good tonal development. Lots of depth and good balance.

     Exc. Condition. One small professionally repaired top crack on the top. There are a couple marks, but no glaring aesthetic problems. Back shows random marks and 'worm trails'. One top crack repaired at extreme treble side of lower bout on top. Frets are in great shape having been recently milled. Minor lacquer checking, frets are in great shape.
     Choice Sitka top. Mahogany back and sides with beautiful red hue. 7-ply top binding. 5-ply back binding. Fingerboard is bound. Brazilian Rosewood fingerboard and bridge. Parallelogram inlays in fingerboard. Original adjustable brdige with ceramic saddle. Original Kluson tuners. All-original finish in good shape with some finish checking here and there.
     The guitar plays nice, and sounds very nice.

     Exc.(+) Condition. Really clean all around. Just one light touch on the top.
     Heavily bear-clawed Sitka top. Rosewood back and sides. 4-ply white binding on the top, and single binding on the back and fretboard. Mahogany neck. Ebony bridge and fretboard with Pearl dot inlays. Fishman pickup installed.  Newer hand-made bone nut. Strap button professionally installed in heel.
     This is a really nice playing Gibson at a low price.

     Exc(-) condition. Sunburst. A few small nicks and chips in the finish here and there. Frets have been milled in not too distant past, so no appreciable fret wear. Back of peghead has a mysterious area right where serial numbers would be. The serial numbers have been obscured. Factory order numbers remain intact, inked into the inside of the guitar.
     Hollowbody electric with one P-90 pickup near neck. Maple back and sides with Sitka Spruce top. Mahogany neck with Rosewood fingerboard. Original Rosewood adjustable bridge. Original tailpiece and pickguard. Original Kluson DeLuxe closed-back 3-on-a-plate tuners with excellent condition cream buttons (not shrinking or cracking).
     This guitar is really quite nice and is ready to play. Everything is in good order and the pickup sounds very good.

     Exc(-) condition. Ebony black finish. As an interesting point, this guitar comes with papers officially from Gibson variously describing this guitar as an "ES-345" and an "ES-35", even though it absolutely is a stock ES-135. And, all these same papers (label, warranty card, inspection papers, etc), all have the correct serial number that matches the back of peghead and label, etc.
      No fret wear at all. This instrument is really in nice condition, but it does have one repair on back that is hard to spot. There was a slight clean crack in the outer ply of the back. Our local luthier, George Weisel, did a really great job of repairing it and blending the finish so that there is no sign of the repair at all, except a slight deflection of light when looking directly at it - we'll make sure to make one or two photos that show you what we mean. Many stores would omit this information about the repair, because it was done so well that it truly is a 'non-issue'.
     24 3/4" scale length. Semi-hollowbody, with block of wood running thru body. Two 'P-100' pickups (stacked double-coil humbucking). Trapeze tailpiece and tune-a-matic bridge. Kluson-style "Gibson DeLuxe" tuners with tulip buttons.
     This is a very nice example of a semi-hollowbody guitar. You can play this guitar acoustically and get great sound. It is very resonant. The set-up is great, with nice low action and everything works great.

     Exc.(++) Condition. There are only some very slight surface scratches that keep this guitar from being in new condition.
     Nice Maple top, back and sides with sunburst finish. Top has multiple white bindings, back and fretboard have single binding. Chrome hardware including "tune-o-matic" bridge. Independent volume and tone controls for each humbucker and 3-way.  Sunburst Mahogany neck with Rosewood radiused fingergboard and pearl "trapezoid" inlays. Grover tuners.
     This guitar is in really nice shape. Looks like it just came out of the factory, but has the sound of a mature instrument.

     VG condition. Lots of player wear all around, and some repairs... but it has original pickup and original finish.
     This is truly a 'player's guitar', because it has a great mojo going for sound and has a very good set-up.

Exc. (+) condition. Spruce top, Mahogany back and sides. Rosewood fingerboard and bridge (Brazilian) Unaltered original Hawaiian style neck, High nut that measures 1 7/8" wide. Replacment "Golden Age" tuners. Original tuners are included with replacment knobs. Comes with the original softshell case that is in fine condition. All the latches work, but one hinge is in need of repair. Truly one of the best examples we've seen.

     Exc(+) condition. Only has a few minor touch marks here and there and very little fret wear. All original parts - no repairs.
     This is the famous Mahogany Dreadnaut from Gibson that seems to have universal appeal across a broad range of players. Select Englemann Spruce top. Brazilian Rosewood fingerboard and bridge. Parallelogram inlays in fingerboard. Gibson logo inlaid in headstock along with a "crown" inlay below the logo.
     Multiple bound top and back of body. Single binding along fingerboard. Traditional "Hummingbird" pickguard is in great shape.
     This is a very full sounding guitar that is very evenly balanced across the fingerboard. It has a quick attack and strong resonance.
     * Remember that these "Nashville period" Gibson acoustics were NOT over-built like the ones from the 1970's. These are much more lightly built and have much better sound in my opinion.

     Exc.(-) Condition. Fullerplast finish. No cracks, no repairs. Just a few lines of finish checking here and there on the top.
     Beautiful traditional tobacco sunburst finish. High-grade Sitka spruce top. Maple back, sides and neck. Top is bound with 7-ply binding, 5-ply back binding. Fingerboard is single bound. Peghead has 5-ply binding. Heel cap is bound with 3-ply binding. Rosewood fingerboard and bridge. Pearl crown inlays in fingerboard. Original pickguard in great shape. Decorative wooden strip down center of back. gold "Kluson-style" tuners with antique tulip buttons.
     Guitar is branded "workshop" in the back strip next to the label inside soundhole. We think the incidental finish checking is the reason that this guitar has been marked with the "workshop" label.
     The guitar has a great, full tone. Very balanced and meaty, and we haven't even put new strings on it yet.

     VG+ condition. This guitar is in nice playing condition. It has some button marks on the back, some moderate fret wear, one nick in center of back of neck, and a very small bubble, or rumple, in the top just below bridge. This small bump has been thoroughly checked out and it is very stable. We tried to take a close-up of the spot, so you could see it, but it is difficult to even get a good photo of it - that's how slight it is...
     Mahogany back, sides and neck with select Sitka Spruce top. Rosewood fingerboard and bridge. Long scale. 1 11/16" width at nut. Rounded "V" neck profile.
     This guitar has very good sound. We've just installed a new bone intonated saddle in the bridge and the guitar was immediately 20% better sound than with the factory "fake bone" saddle. It is strong, with good depth and balance.
     In all seriousness... this instrument is a great flatpicking guitar, especially for the price. It has lots of power and presence, with good balance. It would be the perfect guitar to take to festivals or to buy for a young serious flatpicker.

     Exc(-) condition. Some repairs... One side crack repaired in bass side upper bout. Back center seam reglued. Two worn areas in upper center of back have been cosmetically touched up with lacquer. One worn area in back is not touched up. NO top cracks.
     This is a very nice playing and sounding J-45 that has been recently professionally set-up. Frets are in great shape with no wear. Original bridge and pickguard. Tuners have been replaced with "Kluson DeLuxe" vintage re-issue tuners that look so great its hard to say they are replacements.
     This guitar plays like butter. It is wide open, has a great balance and just sounds like 60-year old wood is resonating in your hands.

     Good(+) Condition. This guitar has been played. There are a lot scratches and areas where finish has worn off. The top, back and sides all have cracks that have been repaired, please call us for more information. The neck just has a few small marks and an area wear finish has been worn through. There is no fret wear, playability is very nice.
     Sitka Spruce top, Mahogany back, sides and neck. Top and back are single bound. Radiused Rosewood fretboard with Pearl dot inlays. Original Kluson Deluxe tuners.
     This is a player's guitar. The sound is wide open, very clean and crisp with big, strong bass. Plays great. It has that "old dried wood" sound that is a quick attack with very satisfying growl with clear singing trebles.
     * Some people will insist that the first J-45's were the "Banner" models... but those of us who have seen thousands of old Gibsons understand that there were a significant number of these 'transition' guitars produced BEFORE they were listed in catalogs and BEFORE the 1942 start of the Banner Logo.

     Good+ condition. 1 11/16" width at nut. This guitar has a 1951 Gibson medium "C" profile neck. Neck has a few dings and is not a body-matched color (see photos), but is now tremendously different. Neck has a fresh milling, fresh fret job and new nut. Center seam on top has been re-glued, as well as five other top cracks. Back has two repaired cracks. Sides are crack free.
     Sitka Spruce top with cherry red sunburst, Mahogany back, sides and neck. Ebony fretboard with pearl dot inlays. Ebony peghead venner with replacement Kluson "Deluxe" tuners. Body is bound with multiple bindings on top. The original adjustable bridge has been replaced with matching Rosewood grafts where the poles used to be. New saddle as well. Strap button installed correctly on heel.
     Good setup and good action, overall a very nice guitar for a player.

     Exc. Condition. Top braces have been reglued, the top still shows a little rumpling from when they were loose. One top crack repaired, straight up from pickguard. Two top cracks on extreme bass side of lower bout. One side crack repaired adjacent to the two top cracks. Another two inch side crack off to treble side of end pin. No back cracks, no neck cracks.1 3/4" width at nut. All-original lacquer.

     Exc.(++) condition. There is one single ding on the top, aside from that the guitar is in mint condition.
     Stunning flamed Maple top with a deep blue finish. Choice Mahogany back, sides and neck. Top and neck are single bound. Rosewood finger board with Pearl trapezoid inlays. Nickel hardware, "Gibson Deluxe" tuners. Two Gibson "Burstpucker" humbuckers with independent tone and volume controls for each pickup. 3-way pickup selector.
     This guitar is beautiful. It's got a growl, and a look that catches the eye. This is a great one for anyone to own.

     VG Condition. One Owner! There is heavy player wear, and the pickguard is missing. There is one slight separation repaired in the top under where the pickguard would be. There is also some finish rubbed away in that area. The backplate is partially broken, and there are some scratches and paint chipped away on the back. The neck shows signs of wear on the back, but feels great. The guitar has recently had excellent professional fingerboard milling and fresh fret job and is setup to play great.
     Solid Mahogany body with Maple carved top. 7-ply binding on top and 5-ply on the back.  Original "Bigsby" tremolo. The original "T-top" Gibson pickups have been replaced because the owner wore through the original pickup covers. They have been replaced with "New Old Stock" Gibson 1994 PAF pickups new out of the box, but the original pickups will come in the case. The volume and tone knobs have been replaced, as well as the "tunomatic" tailpiece. Three way selector switch. Single-bound Mahogany neck. Radiused Ebony fretboard with large Pearl block inlays. 5-ply bound peghead wth original tuners.

One of the rarest of the small-body Gibson acoustic guitars! Mahogany back, sides and neck, Spruce top. These guitars sound great, having very good construction and true X-bracing design. This one is pretty remarkable to be in this nice condition. NO TOP CRACKS. There are 4 repaired back cracks, but in person they seem less important overall. Original tuners, pickguard and bridge.  The original faux alligator chipboard case is in good shape. This guitar is set up to play and has no problems.

    (VG) Condition. Weather checking on top and back, as well as a few dents and dings. The back of the neck has a couple of scratches and some dings. Recent refret. The pickups and pick guard have been upgraded, and there is an additional boost switch added that ups the output of the pickups.
     Nice tobacco sunburst. Solid Mahogany body with double cutaway. Three single coil pickup configuration, with 5-way selector switch, two tone knobs, master volume and a boost switch. Mahogany neck with Rosewood fingerboard and Pearl dot inlays. Ebony peghead veneer, Deluxe tuners with oval buttons.
     This is a really cool guitar. Plugged in it can do anything, the custom pickup configuration and boost switch make for a really wide tonal variety. It's got the renowned Gibson neck for easy playability, and great all around mojo.

     Excellent condition. One repaired 2" side crack and one filled small jack hole 2" from endpin.
     This guitar is in very nice condition, is all set-up to play well, and has original parts.
     Mahogany back, sides, and neck. Sunburst Spruce top. Rosewood fingerboard with paralellogram inlays. Original Kluson tuners. Multiple 7-ply bindings around top edge, with 5-ply bindings around back edge of body. Bound fingerboard. Original Rosewood bridge and pickguard.
     This is just one of those guitars that was never played a lot. The lacquer has lots of lustre and life to it. Has a deep woody resonance without the bass overpowering. All set-up to play with recent neck reset and fret job.

     New Condition. This is an unscathed example of Jim Goodall's "traditional" Mahogany Baritone guitar.
     Choice figured Honduran Mahogany back, sides and neck. Beautiful Sitka Spruce top with heavy "Bearclaw" figure. Ebony fingerboard, bridge and peghead overlay.      Beautiful tone. Excellent depth, but even more importantly, excellent balance.

     New condition.

     Great sound, great look. This is a nice guitar.

     Exc(-) refinished condition. Maple back and sides, Spruce top, Mahogany neck. Recent fret job and fingerboard milled. Body refinished blonde... neck appears to have original finish.
     Body bound with cream bindings on top and back. Inside f-holes are painted white. Tailpiece, bridge and tuners are original. Non-original pickguard installed with floating D'Armand pickup at neck position, as well as old clear lucite tone and volume knobs in pickguard. This pick-up and pickguard arrangement is also wired into the endpin jack with an in-line jack for easy removal of entire pickguard/pick-up.
     Our local musician friend, John Rosett, remarks that it has a bright acoustic sound that "cuts", and an excellent full and warm sound when plugged in. This guitar is in fine playing condition.

     Exc(+) condition. No problems, no repairs. Minimal signs of playing on frets. Some slight lines of finish checks on the top and slight wear on back of neck.
     Indian Rosewood back and sides. Mahogany neck. Select Sitka Spruce top. Ebony fingerboard and bridge. Guild logo and crown inlaid in headstock. Medium pearl dots inlaid in fingerboard. Body has excellent bindings - 7-ply around top edge, 5-ply around back edge. Cream heelcap. Wooden marquetry back strip along center of back and endpin area. Strap button professionally installed in neck heel.
     This is a great guitar. It is in real nice condition and also plays great and sounds great. Lots of presence. The case is a nice Gibson hardshell from the late '70's or early '80's.

     Excellent condition. Really great shape except for a few lines of finish checking. There is one dent in the neck, but in a position where it won't be felt.
     Sitka Spruce top. Rosewood back and sides, Mahogany neck. Multiple bindings on top and back, and center seam inlay in back. Ebony bridge and fretboard with Pearl dot inlays. Ebony peghead overlay with "Guild" logo inlaid in Pearl. Gold Grover tuners. 1 11/16" width at nut.
     This is a fine guitar in really good shape. It is set up well and plays great.

     VG(+) Condition. The "G" designates the guitar is a "Jumbo Dreadnaut" guitar... It is shaped like a Dreadnaut, but 1 1/8" wider and about 1" longer than a standard Guild D size. The scale length is 26.4"
     One well-repaired top crack. A few knicks here and there, normal finish cracking. Player wear through finish on the Spruce top, above and below pickguard and around soundhole area. Back and sides have routine checks and dings. There is a little fret wear and a couple of marks on the back of the neck.
     Sitka Spruce top. Mahogany back, sides and neck. Top is multiple bound, back has single binding. Radiused Rosewood fretboard with Pearl dot inlays. Nickel Guild tuners made by Schaller.
     The guitar is all set-up and ready to play. No problems. Very good sound.

     Exc(+) condition. Body size is smaller than a Gibson J-200, but does have similar depth. Very nicely taken care of through the years. Just has polite finish checking and light evidence of handling. The worst mark on the guitar is a chip in the top of peghead above G-tuner. Even the frets are in very nice condition.
     Rosewood back and sides. The Rosewood appears to me to be Cambodian Rosewood, instead of Indian Rosewood, as the wood has a chocolate-brown hue instead of the purplish hues of Indian Rosewood.

     This is a great guitar. The attack is quick and sure, with great tonal expression and depth right away. Works as well with bare fingers as it does with a pick. You and I both know that this guitar should be priced around $3000 or more in today's market. But Gurian guitars have always been a "sleeper" in the used and vintage market. Gurian made too few guitars (around 2000 or so), to be a household name. Usually the people who know them were active buying and playing guitars in the 1970's when these were being made and were aware of them.
     This guitar is set-up very well and plays great. It has a very nice mature sound that is balance well, it is very "open" sounding, and has good presence.

     VG Condition. This guitar has a moderate amount of wear and tear, a couple of crack on the sides that has been repaired. however, it is in nice playable shape overall.
     All Mahogany with sunburst top. Mahogany neck and fretboard. All original parts and hardware except for a Loller pickup and volume knob added. Strap button professionally installed in heel.
     This guitar has the mojo. It sounds nice acoustically, and sounds huge with the Loller plugged in.
 

     Exc(++) condition. There is one little ding on the top of the guitar, and light button scratches on the back. Otherwise the guitar is in perfect shape. No fret wear!
     12-fret, slotted headstock. Nice Englemann Spruce top. Indian Rosewood back and sides and Mahogany neck. Top, back and neck are multiple bound, with Indian Rosewood outer binding.      This is a very fine sounding guitar in great shape. It is very lively and resonates in your hands as you play it.

     Exceptional condition. Only has bare hint of strings touching the frets and no dings, dents or scratches.
     Sunburst slope shoulder guitar with long scale and 1 3/4" width at nut. Built in the tradition of pre-war "Advanced Jumbo" guitars, it has advanced scalloped hand-tuned bracing.
     Master grade quarter-sawn old growth Brazilian Rosewood back and sides and Adirondack Red Spruce top. Ebony fingerboard and peghead overlay, with beautiful delicate handcut abalone inlay pattern and JWalker logo in peghead. Ebony bridge with 'cut through' saddle. Ivory saddle and nut. Ebony pins. Very nice "late '30's" style sunburst. Firestripe pickguard. Finely crafted wooden bindings throughout, with multiple bindings on top edge with outside flamed Maple layer, flamed Maple single binding on back. The fingerboard binding can hardly be described, as Mr Walker "insets" the outer flamed Maple strip very cleverly into the side of the fingerboard without the Maple showing at top of fingerboard.      This is a very powerful guitar... Lots of presence and power, with excellent balance, attack, sustain and projection. It is set-up very well and needs nothing.
     * Remember - John Walker was a key player when Gibson re-issued the "AJ" guitar in 1990. I would suggest that he may have more experience with building "AJ" style guitars than just about anyone.

     This is a uniquely designed parlor guitar. 9 1/2" width at upper bout, 13 1/2" width at lower bout. 3 3/4" depth at upper bout, 4 3/4" at lower bout. Typical of guitars hand made by John Walker, it has a very nice 'pop' at the attack of each note and great balance.
     This guitar would cost six or eight hundred dollars more if John Walker hadn't deemed it to be sold at a discount because he took it to shows for product display. It would be an excellent choice for anyone who loves beautiful looking guitars that also sound beautiful.

     This is a fine guitar for beauty and for sound. Typical of John Walker guitars, the fit and finish are highest form of hand lutherie.

     Exc(-) Condition. Here we have the first ever guitar that John Walker put his name on. Sure... by the time this guitar was built, John Walker had built many great handmade Gibsons in the Custom Shop and guitars for Stephen Anderson, but this is the first that was named a "Walker".
     There are areas of stray pickmarks on the top, and a few dings as well, but nothing major at all. The back and sides are really clean. Neck is in great condition with no fret wear.
     Adirondack top with single tortoise-shell binding. Curly Maple back and sides have really great figure. The whole guitar body is finished with hand-rubbed shellac. Mahogany neck with blank Ebony radiused fretboard. Ebony peghead overlay with "JWalker" inlaid in Pearl. Gibson tuners with black buttons. Fire-stripe pickguard. Comes with original composite straight-thru saddle on the guitar, as well as a new Walrus Ivory saddle in the case.
     This is a really phenomenal sounding guitar. This is one from the personal collection of Greg Boyd, and we have been changing our minds about putting it up for months because the sound is so good. The tone is all there, great lows and highs from the first fret to the last.
     John Walker is one of those rare Luthiers who can use Maple to it's full potential. Many Maple guitars can sound quick, but also thin. Walker's Maple guitars let you hear the Maple as a "special treat", where you can "feel" the mids and lows bouncing deep off the back and the highs have a beautiful "pop" attack and clear, sweet tones.
     This guitar would cost over $5000 with the spectacular Maple and the Shellac finish...
     There is no serial number, because this guitar was made before SN 001.
     Set-up is great, action is great, no problems, no repairs.

     Excellent condition. This is a very well made Flamenco guitar by Jose' De La Mora in Los Angeles, in 1960. Cypress guitar with Spruce top. Multiple wood bindings on top, back and sides of body. Original Ebony bridge with Ivory at top rear of bridge and Ivory saddle. Original Ivory nut.
     Guitar shows moderate evidence of prior playing wear, but has no problems. One old back crack repaired professionally. Ebony fingerboard. Original tuners in good shape. Frets have been milled but not properly dressed and polished at this time.
     The sound is quite good... great balance, great attack and lots of expression.

     VG(+) Condition. There is some lacquer checking and just a few scratches on the top, back and sides. The neck has a couple marks in the back, frets are in great shape.
     Spruce top with sunburst finish. Birch back, sides and neck. Radiused rosewood fingerboard. DeArmond pickup with Volume and tone knobs. All original parts and hardware.
     This is a fun guitar to play. It sounds great when played both acoustic and electric, and has just been setup for really nice low action.

     Exc(+) condition. Nicely figured Koa back and sides with a lot of rich character and figure. Excellent Adirondack Red Spruce top - again, with a lot of grain character. Both woods complement each other with Mr Kopp's color scheme. The golden brown of the Koa works very well with the blonde top, visually. Guitar shows some slight player wear. Small area of finger wear between pickguard and bridge. Frets show minor wear. There are a few small, insignificant marks here and there, but nothing to get upset about.

     This is a very nice looking guitar that is set-up very well - it plays and sounds great.

     Very nice sound. Balanced, with a nice crisp attack. Great volume and projection. We've already had several experienced players who own old original J-45's and SJ's, etc, who are amazed at how "open" and "mature" this guitar sounds.

     Exc. Condition. This is the only blonde-top cutaway Trail Boss that Kopp has made. Top is very clean, but has several polite touch marks. The back, sides and neck are all in really great shape. No marks, no fret wear.

     This guitar has a huge low end with good treble and mid-range balance. Great open tone for finger-picking. Moving the 12-fret joint spaces the bridge further away from the soundhole 1 3/8 inches to allow for a different timbre in the attack which is very rich and satisfying. This is a very nice, low price for such a fine, hand-made guitar. Leo Kottke has owned 3 Kopp Trail Boss guitars for several years now and there are some You Tube videos of him playing them.

     VG(+) Condition. The top has lacquer checking, a handful of dents and dings and one repaired crack. Sides have some scrapes and two repaired cracks. The back has lacquer checking and three repaired cracks. The neck has a sizeable area where finish has been rubbed off and a few other marks. Neck has been recently reset and the frets have been milled.
     All Mahogany body. Radiused Rosewood fretboard with Ivoroid dot inlays. Rosewood bridge. All-original parts.
     Great sound. Nice, crisp attack with a solid low end. This guitar is fun to play. It's set up great for fingerpicking, and the sound is clear and loud.

     Exceptional original condition. The top has a few very tiny touch marks, and shows polite lacquer checking. The back and sides just have a few small marks and slight lacquer checking. There are two very small side cracks that have been professionally repaired. The neck is in great original shape with just a few small marks. Bar frets are in great shape, peghead is really clean. Tuners are in exceptionally fine original condition.
     Adirondack Red Spruce top. Mahogany back, sides and neck. Top is multiple bound, back has single wood binding. Radiused Ebony fretboard with graduated Abalone dot inlays. Original pickguard and "belly bridge". Slotted peghead with original tuners and "CF Martin & Co" stamped on the back.
     Excellent sound, excellent condition. This is a beautiful original Martin. These guitars represent the most desirable of all the 12-fret, 00-18's. A good time to buy is right now, when this one is priced 15% or 20% below their pre-recession price.

     Exceptional condition. Special issue "000" guitar from Martin to commemorate their 175th anniversary in business. This guitar only has a few very minor touch-marks on the top (can't see them when looking directly at the top), and one tiny touch on the side. In short, this is a fabulous guitar that is pretty close to new condition.
     12-fret "000" with Madagascar Rosewood back and sides and Adirondack Red Spruce top. 25.4" scale length. 1 3/4" width at nut. 2 11/32" pin spacing at bridge (in between 2 5/16" & 2 3/8").
     The Red Spruce top is very nice, with lots of "silky" side rays. The Madagascar Rosewood looks really close to Brazilian Rosewood in grain character.
     Guitar is fully bound, with multiple ivoroid body and peghead binding and single ivoroid binding along fingerboard. Heel cap and end wedge both are multiple bound with ivoroid. Diamond volute behind nut. Slotted peghead. Waverly 3-on-a-plate engraved open-back tuners with Ebony buttons. Ivory nut, saddle, bridge pins and end pin. Bridge pins and end pin have inlaid abalone dots.
     Top of guitar has beautiful abalone purflings around top edge, around fingerboard extension, bordering end wedge, and around soundhole rosette. Decorative wooden marquetry strip in center of Rosewood back. Madagascar Rosewood peghead overlay with intricate abalone floral inlay. Ebony radiused fingerboard has traditional abalone 'cat eyes, diamonds and snowflakes' inlay pattern.
     These long-scale 12-fret guitars have piqued my interest for years, because of how the 'timbre' of the tone shifts a bit when the bridge is located further down from soundhole and crossing of  X-braces. The attack seems 'more sure', and with full body sound after the attack.
     This guitar sounds really great. It is very "open" sounding with a very quick, bold attack. The balance, depth, attack... they are all very good.

     Excellent (restored, converted) condition. Has a few minor marks on top and back and one lacquer chip in back of neck.
     Originally was an arch top guitar with flat back, built on the "000" or "OM" form at Martin in early 1930's. Many players have noticed that the original archtop configurations didn't have the right tonality for them. Starting in mid to late 1960's, luthiers saw the possibility of putting a good flat top on these C-2's, to convert them into great sounding flat tops. Even by the mid-'70's they were talked about as a very viable way to get an 'older guitar sound' by doing these conversions.
     Beautiful quarter-sawn Brazilian Rosewood back and sides. Full neck profile - deep rounded "V" that feels fine. The fingerboards have just a bit more radius in them than Martin uses in their flat tops today, but it is a great feeling fingerboard. Converted in about 8 years ago by Steve Helgeson, who did a very fine job with the symmetry of neck placement, angle of neck set, bridge, top, pickguard. As part of the restoration, Mr Helgeson masterfully refinished the back, sides and neck.
     The finish work is excellent - if you have to refinish an old guitar, this is what they should look like. Helgeson also chose a very nice Spruce top for the job and completed the conversion by inlaying 'style 42' abalone trim around top edge purfling and soundhole rosette. Newer Gabon Ebony fingerboard with elaborate 'snowflakes and cat-eyes' abalone inlay. Ivoroid bindings along fingerboard and around peghead to match outer body bindings. Greven tortoise pickguard. Gabon Ebony bridge. Bridge pins appear original, with large flat head with large inlaid dot. Tuners are Gold Waverly pre-war style open-backs.
     24.9" scale length. 1 3/4" width at nut. 2 1/4" pin spacing in bridge.
     This is a remarkable guitar for tone and playability. The set-up is great.

     Very strong, resonant sound. This guitar came into us in almost un-played condition. After only a few days here it is opening up very fast!
     These guitars listed for $6999 when new in 2011. They were only made as a special custom shop limited offering of around 75 guitars.

      VG(+) condition.  Only a few cosmetic rubs in the finish, and some dings here and there. One extra strap-button hole beside the neck heel.
     All solid wood construction, with select Mahogany back, sides and neck. Top appears to be select Englemann Spruce. Rosewood fingerboard, bridge, peghead overlay and heel cap. Small Abalone "cut-diamonds" inlaid in fingerboard and bridge. Tortoise-celluloid bindings on top and back of body. Wooden herringbone back strip and sounhole rosette. Tuners replaced with excellent Kluson copies, most likely by Gotoh. Original frets with minor denting. Dovetail neck joint.
     The D-16's made prior to the mid-90's follow pre-war examples with advanced scalloped bracing. This is a great guitar, better sounding than a lot of the Martin's of that era and new Martins as well.

     New Condition. Never been owned or used. This guitar still has all hang tags, etc. It was brought to us as a new guitar and traded for other items. NO wear, no dings, dents, scratches, etc.

     Look... we've had lots of D-16's come through here since early 1990's. This is really one of the very best. It has a great response that is quick and sure. Very good balance. I really think you'd have to play through quite a few more expensive Martins (D-18, D-18V, etc), to find one that is as good as this one. I rate it "exceptional tone".
