2006 Bourgeois D-150 Brazilian Rosewood Guitar 'Sold'

Exceptional original condition. This is a fine example of Dana Bourgeois' highest model. The D-150 brings together two of the favorite tone woods of today and of yesterday, Brazilian Rosewood with an Adirondack Red Spruce top and braces. Both woods are very high grade, with the Brazilian graded at AAA. These D-150's come with lots of extras: Brazilian Rosewood peghead overlay, Ebony fretboard with small cut diamond inlays, Abalone soundhole rosette, Gold Waverly tuners, intonated bone saddle and bone nut, Ivoroid pins. Body, neck and peghead are all bound with multiple Ivoroid bindings. Wooden marquetry backstrip, and wooden end wedge at endpin area. This guitar plays and sounds great, and mics especially well. Except for one very tiny indentation in the lacquer that is hard to spot, and for the strap button installed on neck heel, it is no different than a new guitar.

New Bourgeois Vintage D Brazilian Guitar 'Sold'

Here is another great Dreadnaut from Dana Bourgeois and company. Great sound right out of the box - plenty of growl as well as smooth lyrical highs.
Quarter-sawn beautiful Brazilian Rosewood back and sides, with a very high grade Adirondack Red Spruce top. Brazilian peghead overlay. Ebony fingerboard and bridge. 1 23/32" width of fingerboard at nut. Ivoroid bound body with Herringbone top trim.
I am sure most of you are aware that these high grades of quarter-sawn Brazilian Rosewood are getting more and more scarce. Some builders are shutting off new orders for Brazilian guitars, while others are charging extremely high prices for even poor grades of Brazilian Rosewood. This Bourgeois has top grades of Brazilian Rosewood and Adirondack Red Spruce and is priced at "yesterday's prices".
My market prediction is that all top grade Brazilian Rosewood guitars built by top makers will be $10,000 or more within the next few years...

2004 Bourgeois Vintage D Guitar 'Sold'

Exc. original condition. Rosewood back and sides, with Adirondack Red Spruce top. Lots of 'favorite appointments' on this guitar: Herringbone purfling inside the Ivoroid top bindings; Ebony fingerboard with 1 23/32" width at nut; Diamond on back of headstock; pre-war style Waverly open-back tuners; traditional 'zig-zag' wooden backstrip, and more...
Typical of good Bourgeois guitars, this guitar has good power and enunciation... but also has a sweetness that adds flavor to the clear notes to make them more lyrical. We see lots of customers who flatpick fiddle tunes tending toward Bourgeois Vintage D's and Country Boy guitars.
This guitar has been played a bit... but it was never abused. Only a few small dings, mostly at or near binding below bridge on top, and slight evidence of fret wear. It is in very fine playing condition and sounds impressive and all 'opened up'.
