1976 Mossman Great Plains - Dan Crary's Personal Guitar 'Sold' |

Here is a rare thing, indeed... Dan Crary's Mossman "Great Plains" guitar! Owned and used by Dan Crary for touring and recording. He used this guitar for several years around 1976-1980, in personal appearances, national and international tours, and for recordings on his celebrated album, "Lady's Fancy".
A letter of Provenance from Dan Crary is included with this guitar.
Exc(-) condition. Indian Rosewood back and sides, with Sitka Spruce top. Back is 3-piece. Top and back are bound with multiple ivoroid, with Herringbone purfling on top edge and soundhole rosette. Neck and peghead are bound with ivoroid. Original bridge, pickguard, and nickel Grover tuners. Some mild player wear and random dings here and there. Frets are nice, and show recent professional attention. Guitar has finish checking, otherwise the original lacquer is in good shape. This guitar comes with pickup professionally installed by Mr Crary. This pickup works fine.
It is seldom that these historically significant instruments come up for sale. If you've ever heard Dan Crary playing "Lime Rock", "Huckleberry Hornpipe", or "Lady's Fancy" (also known as 'Say old Man'), you know what sort of tone we are talking about.
I will make this statement: I have been around Mossman guitars for about 35 years. I've played music with guys that owned them, I've bought and sold several over the years, etc. This is an outstanding Mossman!
It has a recent professional neck re-set and is set up very well.

1991 Taylor 710 made in Santee Shop Guitar 'Sold' |
|
Excellent original condition. Only has light evidence of prior playing.
Indian Rosewood back and sides. Mahogany neck. Select Sitka Spruce top. Ebony fingerboard with dot inlays. Ebony bridge with original intonated saddle. Original nut and frets. Schaller tuners with Ebony buttons. Bone bridge pins.
This is a very good sounding guitar. It is set-up very well and has no problems. It has an active pickup professionally installed.
* The Santee shop was an interim facility that housed Taylor production for about 5 years after leaving the Lemon Grove shop. This instrument was made during this time, when Taylor was producing about 2000-3000 instruments per year, and it sounds quite a bit better than later models we've seen when they were producing almost 100,000 pieces per year. w/ HC |

1986 Taylor 810 - Lemon Grove Guitar 'Sold' |
|
Exc(-) condition. One-owner guitar. Has a few dings here and there, button rub area on back, some wear on back of neck. NO cracks or repairs. Frets show some denting but not deep enough to worry about.
This guitar is from the Lemon Grove shop, meaning it was built when Taylor was still a fairly small production shop crafting a few hundred guitars per year. To put it in perspective, by around 2003 - 2006 or so, Taylor was up to about 100,000 pieces or more per year! If you understand those different numbers in relation to building "soul" and real tone into an instrument, then you will understand why these Lemon Grove guitars are much more sought-after than the same Taylor guitars from more recent years...
Select Sitka Spruce top with beautiful honey colored Rosewood back and sides. Ebony fingerboard and bridge. Original nut and saddle and tuners - all in good shape. Abalone soundhole rosette.
Now... about the sound... If only Taylor would build guitars that have this sound today. This is a REAL guitar for tone. It has a great attack, great depth, and a big full voice.
In short, this Taylor is one that will stand up to many other high-end guitars for tone... The set-up is good and it doesn't have any problems. w/ OHC |

2006 Weber Yellowstone w/ Amazingly figured Spruce top Guitar 'Sold' |
|
This is a pretty unique archtop guitar from Weber. I can't say that I have ever seen a guitar top with as much figure as this one. It is shot through with "cloud figure", "bearclaw figure", and "flame figure" all over the top.
The back, sides and neck are complimentary highly figured Maple. Ebony radiused fingerboard with rounded diamond position markers. Peghead has Weber Logo and Celtic knot inlaid in pearl. Top, back, fingerboard and peghead are bound with Ivoroid. Pickguard is solid Ebony with Ivoroid binding, and is scalloped for better playability. Tailpiece and bridge are beautiful designs by Vern Brekke, at Weber.
We are offering this guitar at a nice low price - $1200 off normal discount price. This guitar is essentially a new instrument that has been used by Weber to showcase their abilities and take orders, at several instrument shows around the country, and by us for the same purpose.
Be sure to listen to the newest sound samples - our local jazz players are saying that this guitar has opened-up really well and has a great voice. w/ OHC |
