     This is a great sounding and sleek looking mandolin. Its just had a professional new fret job and set-up.

     Exc(+) condition. Very little evidence of prior playing. There is a little bare wood showing just at the upper inside edge of treble f-hole. Frets recently milled and polished.

     This is a very nice mandolin in very nice condition. The finish is especially beautiful, as the matte finish shows a nice lustre from being polished out a bit. The sound is very open and responsive and it is set-up and ready to play.

     Beautiful sunburst color with varnish finish. The varnish has a beautiful lustre, and Collings has further accented the overall "look" by antique-ing the bindings perfectly. The overall look of this mandolin is fantastic, but the best part is the playability and the sound.
     New, this mandolin sold at the discount price of $9500. Next year you know they'll be higher! So take advantage of one that is so close to being new that you can't tell its used, for $2250 LESS than that.

     Great sound and set-up. It's got a nice, crisp, "chunky" attack with full body and clarity.

     VG(+) Condition. There are moderate dings and scratches throughout the body., but no major flaws whatsoever. The back of the neck is spotless. Some fret wear on "E" and "A" strings.

     Strong, even sound up and down the neck.

     Exc condition. Black top, with sunburst back, sides and neck. Some moderate fret wear, but no buzzing. Only some few small marks on the top - nothing much. Strap button installed in back of mandolin below neck heel.
      This fine "A" model from Collings has mostly "standard" features, like 1 1/8" nut width, there are a few custom features associated with a black top mandolin. The top is black with glossy nitro-cellulose lacquer over the black color, and there is an extra white line of binding around top of mandolin to accentuate the "look" of the binding against the black top. Nicely figured Maple back, sides and neck.
     The sound is very good. It is nicely opened-up from playing and has good strength of projection and a fine sound. It is all set-up and ready to go.

     The great Maple "figure" in this mandolin is nicer than we expect to see on most MT models.

     New. Ivoroid top binding Teardrop (A model) mandolin that has been a favorite among players since it was introduced by Collings in the early 2000's. Made of select figured Maple back, sides and neck, and Englemann Spruce top. 1 1/8" width at nut.
