New. Sunburst. Squareneck resophonic with traditional Birch ply and open soundwell.
This model is the entry level for Paul Beard, but has a great sound and playability that is always commented on by professional players when we show them at festivals. Built traditionally from fine quality Birch plywood, as the original Dobros were made. Also Beard uses the traditional soundwell design, but has improved the design by opening-up the ports in the soundwell for better tonal response.
The sunburst is tasteful and is on the entire body, back of neck and the peghead. Ebony fingerboard with pearl dot position markers. Nickel hardware. Beautiful flower design in coverplate. Bone nut. Two screen soundholes above coverplate.
This instrument arrived from Beard in tune and with great sound. Its hard to believe the price after you hear how great it sounds.
Comes with a very good hardshell case.

Early 1900's Knutsen "New Hawaiian Family" Number 4 "Weissenborn" 'In Stock'
VG (+) condition. Very light weight instrument with good resonance.
Very high quality spruce top, possibly Adirondack. Beautiful koa back and sides. Cedar or redwood neck. Binding on top edge around fingerboard and soundhole is wooden "roped" binding. The most attention-getting feature of this guitar is the complex wooden roped binding in varieties of beautiful wood (could be rosewood and maple or holly). Multiple wood endwedge. Original koa bridge (appears to be original ebony bridgepins). Original fingerboard with dot position markers. Non-original tuners work fine. Snake head. Ebony nut. Original saddle is a fret. Typical of these models, the neck is hollow as it leaves the 12th fret area until the true neck is attached to it at about the 5th or 6th fret area. This was done to increase presence and resonance.
Seven significant top cracks repaired. Some snakey separation lines along center of back. A few professional repairs to dings on the sides as well. Small crescent of wood replaced next to binding on the top at bass side of lower bout. Original Knutsen label has been mostly removed from inside of instrument.
Very good sound.
