EXC (-) condition  •  Ebony fittings
Handsome red/amber finish  •  2-pc back
Nice Spruce top  •  Signed Label

This violin was made in Leipzig, Germany with label signed by Johann Glass. Comes in its original hard case. It has been set up well, and has a good full sound that blends well with other instruments. Ebony pegs, fingerboard and tailpiece. Four fine tuners installed in tailpiece.
Reddish-Orange varnish finish over an amber ground.

Two-piece highly figured Maple back with matching sides. The back and sides are quite lovely, with bookmatched flame figure. The neck is in great shape and has a very nice scroll and pegbox.
The Spruce top is fine grained and shows the original light varnish coat defining the grain lines.

This violin has had a couple of top repairs. One is an old repair from the inner edge of the bass side C bout, up to the top of the upper bout along the grain line; the second is a bass bar crack that necessitated top removal. *This repair is nicely done and is warranted. This robust sounding violin does not suffer because of these repairs.

Call for more information. Comes with good hard case.
