The black peghead face has The Gibson silk-screened decal. Ebony flat fingerboard has small frets and pearl dot inlays. Birch back and sides with Mahogany neck and Spruce top. Spruce top has beautiful wide-grain character with grain easily seen in the finish. Original tortoise pickguard with original mounting hardware. Original adjustable bridge with patent date. Original 2-pc. tailpiece with The Gibson engraved in lid. Top of mandolin is bound with single Ivoroid binding. Soundhole is bound inside with Ivoroid with a handsome Ivoroid center rosette with black and white accents. Original 4-on-a-plate tuners with original buttons.

There is some fret wear in the first 5 frets, but it plays well in those positions without needing fretwork immediately. The finish is in especially great condition with no areas worn through. No big scratches, dings or repairs on this instrument. Comes with a great, non-original case, that appears to be from the ’70s.

Very strong sounding mandolin.
