Ok, here’s a good one. This 1935 Gibson L-37 is a real gem. I should’ve rated it a bit higher because of its overall look, feel and sound. It has a beautiful 3-color sunburst, with the original lacquer in great shape. All original parts – the tuners, truss-rod cover and screws, frets, nut, pickguard, Ebony bridge, tailpiece, and even the white endpin.

Maple back and sides, with a Mahogany neck. Blackened peghead face with Gibson silk screen logo at top. Peghead is tapered. Original 3-on-a-plate Grover tuners with yellowed buttons. Frets and Brazilian Rosewood fingerboard show only light normal wear (slight marks in frets, and slight wear into the Rosewood F.B.).

Arched Spruce top with flat Maple back. Back and sides are Maple. Top and back edges are bound with cream bindings. Bass f-hole shows signs of earlier repair of inside wing of the f-hole. Back center seam reglued as well as two other shorter cracks in the back.

This is a great sounding small archtop from Gibson. It is set up well. It comes with its original chipboard case.
