This 1937 Gibson L-Century guitar is one of the best examples we’ve ever seen. Built on the “bell-bottom” mid size frame of a Gibson L-00, these higher versions are made with highly figured Maple and this one has an Adirondack Red Spruce top. Mahogany neck. Brazilian Rosewood and pearloid fingerboard and also peghead overlay.

This is a great fingerstyle guitar, with its generous angular “Vee” neck profile, and wide bridge pin spacing. This guitar is in great shape with no cracks and no repairs.
There is some belly-ing of the bridge and the top, but close inspection by our luthiers shows everything about the top and the bracing is nice and solid.
Fresh new fret job. Original Grover G-98 open back tuners with cream buttons, original pickguard and bridge.
Body has cream bindings around top and back edges. Pearloid fingerboard and peghead has multiple cream binding, with accent line seen from the face.
Peghead overlay is mostly pearloid with large Rosewood in upper center showing Gibson logo inlay and cut diamond in center. Original truss-rod cover and screws located just above nut. Fingerboard inlays mimic the headstock, with M.O.P. diamonds are inlaid into Rosewood “islands” inside the Pearloid expanse of the fingerboard.

This guitar has a big, big voice… The whole guitar is involved in the great sound.
This great guitar also comes in a very rare old light brown Hard Case.
