1 11/16″ width at nut  •  24.75″ scale length

Excellent condition, even with some expert finish work (further description below).

This 1941 Gibson L-7 is a big beautiful blonde! Traditionally made, with highly figured 1-pc Maple back and crazy “moon figure” sides. Tone bar bracing.  Two-pc figured Maple neck with Rosewood stringer in center. Peghead has Ebony overlays on front and back. Peghead face has old war era “balloon” script Gibson logo at top and crown pearl inlay in center. Original truss-rod cover and screws. Brazilian Rosewood fingerboard and adjustable bridge. Fingerboard has pearl parallelogram inlays.

The guitar is fully bound with cream bindings. The top and back edges have accent black line in 3-ply. Ebony heelcap. Tapered headstock. Tuners replaced with Grover open backs with 3-lobed buttons. Original nickel trapeze tailpiece.  Pickguard is newer black/white 5-ply that appears to use the old mounting hardware.  Full feeling “C” neck profile.

The neck has been off the body and oversprayed. Along the side of neck below binding the hand wear to wood has newer coat of finish. Area on both sides of heel show slight repairs and cosmetic finish work. This work was executed very well and is “in the flow” of the total look of the finish. The top shows small isolated areas of spot touch-up, and a light overspray.

Comes with OHC
