1-3/4″ width at nut

This 1946 Gibson L-7 is in great condition. This guitar has beautiful figured maple back, sides, and neck. Has a two piece back and a two piece neck with a Rosewood stringer. Ebony peghead veneer shows old script Gibson logo pearl inlayed at top with a Gibson crown pearl inlay at center.

Original truss rod cover near nut. Original nut that has been shimmed. Appears to be the original frets that have been milled, but they need a little work. Rosewood fingerboard with pearl block parallelogram inlays. Has an elevated plastic tortoise pickguard, which is bound with cream binding. There is some dissolving of the tortoise plate at a few points, but nothing too significant. Original two-piece adjustable Brazilian Rosewood intonated bridge and original trapeze tailpiece. Beautiful three-color tobacco sunburst on the top.

The Spruce top shows lots of character. The edge of the top is bound with cream binding which is the same as the maple back. Fingerboard has antiqued cream bindings with brown dot position markers on the face side of neck binding. The peghead is also bound with antiqued cream bindings and has non-original period Gibson marked tuners that are Kluson close back with metal tulip buttons. No distortion in the guitar, no buckling at the top, and no separation of side and back or top.

This Gibson L-7 is In really great shape and has an awesome tone to it. One repaired crack below treble side f-hole. This is an old repair and is stable.
The original open back tuners are in the case.

A letter of provenance from the original owners family comes with the guitar.
This guitar also comes in the original Hard Case, which is a rare event. The old case is in good condition and has considerable worth, itself.
