This 1946 Kay Swingmaster is in great shape and sounds absolutely wonderful, especially since it’s 75 years old. This Bass has had a recent professional setup; it has great strings and it plays very smooth with nice low action. Every note sounds pristine with a pleasant rolling resonant growl. Real inlayed wood purflings inside the top edge of the body and around the F-holes.
The endpin was replaced with a larger 3/8″ metal pin for stability and a more solid connection. This bass has flamed Maple back, sides, and neck.

There are no repairs on this bass, the neck has never been broken, appears to be original fingerboard, the body has never been taken apart, and no signs of delamination. The edges show wear, but a very normal amount of wear for this bass being 75 years old.

This Kay Swingmaster Comes with a nice padded bag and a German style bow.
