This 1957 Martin 000-18 has been to a lot of gigs in the hands of avid players.  It shows wear patterns from more than one player.  There are signs that a smaller “sympathetic” pickguard was formerly installed on opposite side of main pickguard… This could also possibly mean that the guitar spent some time set-up for a left-handed player.
Cuban Mahogany back, sides and neck.  Nice Spruce top – my guess is Englemann or Red Spruce.  Brazilian Rosewood peghead overlay with CFMartin decal logo at top.  Appears to be original Grover open-back tuners.  Bone nut.  Brazilian Rosewood fingerboard with graduated pearl dot inlays.  Original Brazilian Rosewood bridge with cut-thru intonated bone saddle.  Body has tortoise outer bindings around top and back edge of body, and multiple purfling layers inside top binding.  Rosewood endpin.  Tortoise endwedge.

Pickguard has been repositioned.  Either the original (looks like the right pattern from late ’50’s) was recut and repositioned, or this is a newer pickguard made very close to ’50’s look.
There are two repaired top cracks that are seen between the bridge and the binding below the bridge.  There are two tiny repaired cracks emanating from upper and from lower edge of pickguard.  The back has two repaired cracks.  Sides have 3 repairs.  Call us for an in-hand description of these repairs.

This is a great sounding 000-18… and offered at a nice “player’s” price.  Comes with good hard shell case.
