Description

SN: S 82811.  All-original except for newer frets.

Mahogany back and sides. Beautifully-grained spruce top. Mahogany neck. Brazilian rosewood fingerboard and bridge. 100% original except for newer jumbo frets. Kluson Deluxe 3-on-a-plate tuners with original plastic buttons. Original truss rod cover. Possibly original nut. Pearloid dots inlaid in fingerboard. Quarter-sawn Brazilian adjustable bridge has original ceramic saddle. Bridge may have been re-glued at some point.

Lots of patina. Guitar shows evidence of being at many gigs, but is still in very good condition. Numerous dings around top, back and sides of neck, and edges of peghead. Normal crackle finish mainly on top and back. Moderate to heavy wear around sound-hole area. Very little fret wear, as frets show recent milling. Never had a strap button on heel of neck. Some capo/stand marks on back of neck. Two large and one small back cracks repaired. No side cracks. top shows some surface checking but no real cracks or problems.

Over many years, we have consistently had J-45 and J-50 Gibson guitars in our hands – this particular guitar has remarkable tone. So far, 100% of the players who have tried it have commented on the great tone. Comes with hard case.
