What a wonderful find! Except for two newer bridge pins this instrument is 100% original.  There are some light scratches on the back and finish checking all over the guitar, but otherwise the lacquer is in good shape with good luster.  The peghead is in nice shape with just a little finish checking and some lacquer chipping at the edges.

The original Brazilian rosewood fingerboard has pearl dot inlays and original jumbo frets. The body and neck are Mahogany with an Englemann Spruce top. The spruce top has a lovely traditional tobacco sunburst. Cream colored bindings top and back edge of guitar with top binding having an extra black accent line. The soundhole rosette is cream colored with middle accent line.  The Brazilian Rosewood adjustable bridge is in great condition. Original bone nut,  four nickel Kluson tuners with cream buttons, 19-fret fingerboard, tortoise plastic pickguard.  Strap button professionally installed on heel.

The neck: This neck is nice and straight, but has a dysfunctional truss-rod.
We have heat treated this neck, using the John Carruthers method. The neck is nice and straight. If this was an old 6-string guitar that wanted medium gauge strings, we would also do a “compression-fretting” to hold the neck into the straighter position using the fret tangs as wedges in the fret slots. But this is a tenor, which has many pounds less force on the guitar, so we fully expect this neck to do great for years and years with no problems.

Comes with an excellent period hard case.
