Great original condition.
This is a real nice A-model mandolin made by a local Missoula craftsman, Stuart Williams. Stuart made quite a few mandolins in the 1970’s here in Missoula. Nowadays Mr Williams is more known in our region for his high quality handmade Drift Boats, widely used in our area for fly-fishing the rivers.
This is an atypical A-model, having a wonderfully figured Walnut back and sides, with an Englemann Spruce top. There is no edge binding anywhere on the instrument, but the overall look is great because of the construction and overall “look”. The Spruce top is wonderful, for color and for grain. Headstock has clever inlay of framed abalone river scene. Ebony bridge is a work of art. Gold Schaller mini tuners. Simple 2-pc clamshell tailpiece.
Comes with chip board case.
