The top of this mandolin is book-matched in an interesting symmetrical curve pattern, almost like butterfly wings (see photos). This Bob Shue F-5 mandolin is really well-built and nice-sounding. It plays very well.

Traditionally-built with figured Maple back, sides, and neck. Beautiful Spruce top with handsome sienna sunburst.

Ebony peghead veneer has The Shue inlaid and a flowerpot inlay in the center. Truss rod cover near nut. Flat Gabon Ebony fingerboard has small mandolin frets and medium pearl dot inlays. The fingerboard has a double-cut extension.
The peghead is bound with multiple antiqu’ed white binding. Single binding around the fingerboard. The edge ofthe  mandolin has same antiqu’ed white binding with an accent line seen on top and back. Nice slim-ish U-profile neck. Two-piece nickel bridge. Nickel Schaller tuners with pearloid buttons. Ebony two-piece adjustable Loar-style bridge.

Excellent setup, excellent tone. This mandolin is in great shape. Comes with original hard case.
