Figured Maple back, sides and neck. Beautiful Sitka Spruce top with lots of grain character.
Vivid red-amber sunburst. Snakehead peghead with Ebony overlay has The Flatiron inlaid at top and Fleur de Lis inlay in center. Bone nut. Flat Ebony fingerboard with pearl dot markers.
Fingerboard extension goes to 24 frets on treble side. Ebony Loar style adjustable bridge. 2-pc tailpiece with “The Flatiron” engraved in cover. Grained Ivoroid bindings around top and back edge of body. Ebony heel cap. Nickel Schaller tuners.
This mandolin is a very great sounding Flatiron A-5. Powerful projection.
One repaired crack on top. This was a hinged crack from putting pressure on the vulnerable wing of the treble f-hole. It has been professionally repaired and cleated. Mandolin comes with original Hard Case and nice set-up.
