This 1999 Gibson Songbird Deluxe has a Sitka Spruce top, Rosewood back and sides, and a Mahogany neck.  The Rosewood peghead overlay has the Gibson logo at the top inlaid in pearl and a crown flourish inlaid in pearl in the center.  The Rosewood fingerboard has trillium pearl inlays and cream side dot position markers on the bass side of the fingerboard.  Strap button installed at the heel.  Original Gold Grover tuners with nickel buttons.  The Rosewood bridge has cream plastic pins.  “Songbird” plastic pick guard.  Abalone soundhole rosette.  Black and white alternating 5-line purfling before the cream binding on the top, and a black and white alternating 3-line purfling before the cream binding on the Rosewood back.  Checkerboard back strip.  Pickup access in place of end pin.

The Mahogany neck definitely has signs of player wear, but they are a few spots on back of neck where the lacquer has been rubbed off.  The Sitka top has a fair amount of lacquer checking and there is a repaired crack below the bridge towards the binding about an inch away from the center seam.  The Rosewood back and sides are clean than the top with no lacquer checking and only the expected amount of dings and scratches for this guitar being 23 years old.

We have had a lot of  these style Gibson’s in lately, and they have surprised us in a positive way.  They seem to always have good tone and playability.  Comes with the original Gibson hard case.
