Description

SN: 0020. New Condition.
Prucha F-5 mandolins are fairly rare. They are entirely built in Prucha’s shop by Jaroslav Prucha and his son, John.

Very highly-figured Maple back, sides and neck. German Spruce top. Beautiful amber sunburst that does not obscure any grain. Multiple-bound throughout: back, sides, neck and peg-head, all with multiple Ivoroid binding. Ebony peg-head veneer has JPrucha logo at top, with “Floral Spray” inlay below. Ebony flat fingerboard with dot inlay position markers. Fingerboard is traditional double-cut, with last frets of extension scalloped away by Prucha. Original Loar-style 2-piece adjustable Ebony bridge. Original Monteleone-style tailpiece. Gold hardware, including Gotoh tuners, tailpiece and end button.
Full feeling neck profile without being overly large.
No player-wear, no dings, no dents, no scratches, no problems.
At the time of this writing, we have several other fine, pedigreed F-style mandolins including: Nugget, Gilchrist, Givens, Lawrence Smart, Collings, and Ellis; this Prucha mandolin stands among them for workmanship, playability and tone. Comes with molded flight case.
