This 2002 Gibson F-5 G mandolin is in great original shape. It only has slight signs of prior ownership, with slight evidence of fret wear and a few little touch marks here and there. Vividly figured Maple back, sides and neck, with see-thru brown-amber finish showcasing the Maple flame figure quite well. Unbound peghead has Ebony veneer with The Gibson pearl logo inlaid at top and Gibson flowerpot in center. Truss rod cavity cover near nut. Pearl nut. Radiused Ebony fingerboard with pearl dot inlays.
The Red Spruce top has a lovely traditional sunburst and multiple ivoroid bindings around the edge. Spruce has typical wide grain pattern of Red Spruce. Ebony 2-pc adjustable Loar style bridge. Two-piece nickel tailpiece with “Gibson” engraved in cover.
Here’s a mandolin ready to go out into the world and play. No problems, no repairs, and hardly any wear.
