This 2003 Martin D-28 CWB is a fine guitar, for sure.  Made of very good grade of Brazilian Rosewood back and sides, choice Mahogany neck, and strikingly beautiful grain in the Adirondack Red Spruce top.  Oh… I am sure you all know, but to set the record straight, the “CWB” means “Clarence White Brazilian”.

Brazilian Rosewood peghead overlay with CFMartin logo decal at top.  Appears to be fossilized ivory nut.  Gabon Ebony fingerboard with no inlays.  Black side dot position markers along bass side of fingerboard.  The guitar is mostly bound with ivoroid outer bindings: along fingerboard edge, around top and back of body, heelcap and end wedge.  Top edge has the ivoroid and also wooden herringbone purfling inside the top edge.  The back shows the ivoroid plus black accent line.

The Spruce top shows perfect amount of antique’ing.  Gabon Ebony bridge has “cut-thru” intonated saddle, and hand-made fossil ivory bridge pins and endpin with abalone dot inlay.  “Dalmation” speckled pickguard, with small clear pickguard added where pickwear went outside the Dalmation p/g.  Brazilian Rosewood back is predominantly quarter-sawn and has a nice chocolate hue to it.

This is a great guitar for any serious player or collector.
