This 2004 Prucha Fall-in-Love Maple Banjo has gorgeous, figured wood. The neck and side walls of the resonator show really nice Tiger stripe Maple figure, but the back of the resonator is a mixture of quilt figure and bird’s eye. The finish color is a perfect Amber brown sunburst that highlights all this figure nicely.

Ebony peghead veneer shows Abalone inlays of the fall-in-love pattern with a floral spray in the middle, small snippets around the tuner posts, and the J. Pucha logo inlays at the top. Tortoise truss-rod cover near the bone nut. Gabon Ebony radiused fingerboard has Abalone inlays of fallen leaves. Fall-in-Love engraved in the inlay block at the 19th fret. F.B. is multiple bound with tortoise binding accented with black and white layers above and to the side. Ivoroid side dot position markers on the bass side of the fingerboard. The hardware is a mixture of Gold and Nickle plated hardware *please see the photos. Some clouding of the Nickle around the armrest and tension hoop. This banjo has the Prucha flange showing his peghead design as cutouts in the flange face, similar to Stelling. Resonator has the same Tortoise binding on the top and back edge, with the tortoise seemingly “lit up” by the use of white binding strip behind the tortoise. This has the effect of gathering available light and reflecting it back through the tortoise to eliminate it.

This is a fine banjo, t has no real signs of player wear except for the first few frets. It is currently in the shop to replace the first 5 frets, and to make the frets perfect again. Slight sign of fingers parked on the banjo head while picking. Come with the original hard case.
