This Collings has Indian Rosewood back and sides, a German Spruce top, and a mahogany neck.
This DeLuxe version of the Collings C-10 is fully bound. Mahogany peghead overlay is multiple bound with ivoroid. The fingerboard is multiple Ivoroid bound and has black position dots on the bass side of the binding. There is an Ivoroid heel cap and a professionally mounted strap button on the heel. The German Spruce top edge has multiple Ivoroid binding with multiple lines of thin wooden purflings inside the binding. Similarly, the soundhole rosette is Ivoroid and multiple wood strips around the soundhole. The Indian Rosewood back of the guitar has a wood strip down the middle and shows Ivoroid multiple binding from the back. Has a mitered end wedge.
Pearl Collings logo at the top of the distinctive “Haircut” peghead. The radiused Gabon Ebony fingerboard has graduated pearl dot inlays. Nickel Schaller mini tuners.
Tortoise celluloid pickguard. Gabon Ebony straight bridge with boxed saddle. Ebony bridge pins and end pins.
This guitar is in great shape with just about perfect frets, and has no divots in the fingerboard. There are a series of little bumps along the Spruce top due to the guitar being played and bumped against a microphone and other surfaces. Apparently the Bridge was reglued at some point, with some small chipping of the finish seen in front of and, in back of, the bridge. The back of the peghead shows some chipping, and the neck has a couple hardly noticeable dings.
* It is very hard to see the blemishes to the Spruce top in these photos. What this means is that sometimes a problem that can be pointed out is quite less noticeable if you are not looking for it.
Remember… this Collings C-10 DeLuxe with German Spruce top would cost $6150, if ordered today. The waiting time for these new orders is many months…
