2006 Kevin Kopp Trail Boss

$4,450.00

Big, full sound that surpasses most J-200 guitars.

Description

SN: 0711206  •  1 3/4″ Nut Width
25.5″ Scale Length  •  17″ Body

Lutz Spruce top. Mahogany back, sides and neck. Top has 5-ply Ivoroid/black binding. Back has 3-ply binding. Radiused Ebony fretboard with Pearl dot inlays. Neck and peghead are single bound. Ebony peghead overlay with Kopp logo inlaid in Pearl. Nickel Gotoh  tuners. Fire-striped pickguard.

One thing driving the sound is the 12-fret neck joint with a long scale length. It means the bridge is positioned about 1-3/8″ further away from the crossing of the x-bracing. This yields a “bold” attack with woody timbre. This effect is cousin to same 12-fret long scale early Ditson and later the early Martin Dreadnoughts used by Norman Blake.

These guitars are so good that Leo Kotke bought THREE of them… and Darrell Scott bought one.
Comes with LR Baggs I-Beam pickup system that was installed by Kevin Kopp.
A small area of wear below the pickguard has been touched up with lacquer.

Excellent sound for flatpicking or fingerpicking. The bass response is huge, but does not overwhelm the treble end.
Comes with original hard case.
