This Coombe mandolin has an Ebony peghead overlay that is multiple layered, showing a lighter line underneath the Ebony. The peghead veneer has the Coombe logo inlayed in abalone. The tuners for this Coombe are gold Waverly tuners with Ebony buttons. There is a bone nut, and a slightly radiused Indian Ebony fingerboard with small dot inlays. This Coombe has an oval hole with an abalone rosette, and a Tasmanian Myrtle pickguard with wooden attachment hardware. There is a Gabon Ebony pre-war style two-piece adjustable bridge, and a gold James tailpiece with the makers name “Coombe” engraved in the top.

The Tasmanian Blackwood is accented by lighter colored Flame Maple bindings, showing multiple layers on the sides. The King Billy wood top is in great shape, but it does have numerous tiny marks here and there, and one very hard to find crack repair on the treble side a little over an inch away from the bridge; the crack was repaired beautifully. There is an Ebony strap button professionally installed on the neck heel, and it also has an Ebony endpin. The back is especially highly figured two-piece bookmatched Blackwood.

The tone is very good, and it comes with an Epiphone hard case.
