This is a very nice 2008 open-back Tubaphone model banjo with 12″ pot from the celebrated builder, Chuck Lee. Made of American Black Walnut and Gabon Ebony fingerboard and peghead overlay and heel cap. Dowel stick construction. Nickel Waverly main tuners with Schaller 5th peg – all with matching ivoroid buttons. Scalloped bone nut.
Peghead overlay has abalone inlay “flourish” in the center. Bone scalloped nut. Ebony fingerboard has abalone dot inlays and 3 R.R. spikes installed for 5th string capo’ing.
Thin accent strips of wood are seen under the peghead overlay, the fingerboard, the heelcap… And the Walnut 2-pc neck has an Ebony stringer along the back. Nickel hardware.
Comes with very good original “bump” hard case.
