This 2011 John Walker Ruby Elite is really a great sounding guitar, and packed with beautiful options. Maple back, sides and neck, with the finest fiddle-back figured Maple. The wood is tastefully toned enough to be a true blonde color, and not natural. The high-grade Sitka Spruce top is a wonderful compliment. Guitar is fully multiple bound. Top and back binding have white/black/white accent lines seen on the sides. Back shows white/black/white accent lines. Top has 5-ply binding. This pattern repeats around the soundhole rosette, with thin tortoise center and white/black/white accent on either side of the tortoise.

Beside the body bindings discussed above, the peghead binding also shows a white accent line, as does the tortoise binding of the fingerboard. Ebony peghead overlay has JWalker  logo in Pearl at top, with extremely elaborate rainbow trout inlay in center. Ebony truss rod cover near nut. Hand-made and polished bone nut. Gabon Ebony fingerboard has complex Pearl block inlay motif, with each block approximated from triangles. Gabon Ebony bridge is the straight across style like 30’s Gibsons had. Unbleached bone intonated, cut-thru saddle. Tortoise teardrop pickguard. Ebony bridge pins and end pin, all with Pearl dot inlay. Tortoise end wedge is mitered in with the multiple bindings. Back of neck has thin Ebony stringer in center and some shading into a “bee-sting” at volute area. Tortoise heel cap. Maple back has small wooden marquetry “zipper” inlaid.

This guitar is fully opened up, and sounds like the guitar you need to own. Comes with excellent, original TKL case.
