This 2012 Prucha Open-back banjo is a beautiful custom piece with premium Curly Maple. The Ebony peghead overlay has the “JPrucha” logo inlaid at the top in mother of pearl, and very complex Engraved Gryphon inlay in the center. Nickle tuners with solid pearl buttons. Truss rod access above the bone nut. The Ebony fingerboard has intricate engraved inlays in pearl, and tortoise binding with white position dot markers. The 15th fret has “Premium” inlayed on a mother of pearl scroll. The Curly Maple neck is in great shape with only one or two very small dings. Unique Dolphin inlay in m.o.p on the Ebony heelcap.
Fiberskin head. 11″ pot with 28 hooks and nuts and two coordinator rods thru the rim. Two-hump Nickle tailpiece and a Nickle wire armrest. Shoes attached to a shoe band.
This is an outstanding well made banjo by Jaroslav Prucha and his son, John.
