1-3/4 width at nut
This Guitar would be absolutely perfect but on the left and right sides of the top, on the widest points of the lower bout, there are dings and stray marks that have been buffed to where they can still be seen.
This 2014 Collings has Indian Rosewood back and sides, a choice Mahogany neck, and a European Spruce top. The strikingly beautiful Rosewood peghead overlay has the Collings logo inlayed at the top, and there is a nicely crafted polished bone nut. The tuners are Nickle Waverly tuners with metal free-lobed buttons. The Gabon Ebony fingerboard has diamond cut inlays. The back of the neck has a vintage “C” style, and it has the diamond volute on the back of the peghead below the nut. The neck also has strap button installed in the correct position on the heel. Ivoroid heelcap. The back of the guitar shows a wooden “Zipper” marquetry strip down the center. The top and back edge have Ivoroid bindings, with the back edge having a black accent line seen from the back. The top edge has wooden herring bone purflings seen from the top. The soundhole rosette is multiple concentric circles of ivoroid and thin wood. There is a tortoise plastic pickguard, a Gabon Ebony bridge with a boxed bone saddle, and Ebony bridge pins and end pin with pearl dots. Ivoroid endwedge with black accent lines.
This Collings has incredible tone; if it wasn’t for the markings on the top of the guitar, this guitar would be in almost exceptional condition.
