Exc(+) condition. Serial number 1214-151.
Very fine straight-grain Walnut neck. Resonator shows intense burl figure. Entire banjo bound with cream-black-cream binding with wooden marquetry concentric circles in back of resonator. Double-cut peghead. Ebony peghead overlay has Huber logo inlaid at top and Flying Eagle pattern pearl inlay. Radiused Brazilian Rosewood fingerboard has pearl Flying Eagle inlay pattern. 21st fret has TRUETONE inlay with border around the letters.
Almost no sign of player wear… the head shows slight signs of finger position. Faintest sign of frets being played. There is more finish checking on resonator back than you can see in the photos. Otherwise, in great shape.
These Huber RB-4 models usually come with interesting Walnut in back of resonator, but this one was ordered with Strong Burl Walnut figure. Radius fingerboard is another custom feature. Lastly, many of these come with Nickel plated hardware, but this one has Chrome plating, like many of the Gibson originals.
This banjo is wonderfully resonant, and has wide range of different tonal variations possible. It sounds great, looks great, plays great.
This banjo originally cost over $5700 with all of the options.
Comes with hard case for only $4000.
