This 2016 Custom Shop Gibson Advanced Jumbo Dlx was made here in Montana at Gibson’s facility in Bozeman, MT.
Built as a reissue of the powerful 1930s and 1940s early advanced jumbos… except that figured Maple is used for the back and sides instead of Rosewood.
These guitars were designed back in the 1930’s to go head-to-head with Martin’s D-28 “Herringbones” of the time.
They use Gibson’s slope shoulder jumbo construction with forward shifted braces that are scalloped and voiced.
This beautiful blond example is striking with the contrast of a light brown mahogany neck against the spruce top and the Maohgany back and sides..

Ebony peghead overlay has abalone Gibson logo inlay at top and arrowheads and diamond inlay in the center. Truss rod cover is just above the bone nut.
Gold Schaller open back pre-war style tuners with 3-lobed metal buttons. Rosewood radiused fingerboard has the “AJ” inlay pattern of abalone and pearl diamonds and arrowheads inlayed.
Fingerboard is bound with cream binding. The Spruce top is a high grade example of Sitka Spruce. Fire striped pickguard.
Rosewood straight bridge with boxed intonated bone saddle. Black bridge pins. Pickup jack installed at end pin, but previous pickup element is removed.
Back and sides are quite lovely maple, with good figure.

Cream outer bindings around top and back edge, with multiple purfling strips seen inside top edge. Cream end-wedge.
The honey colored mahogany neck has Gibson custom shop decal back of headstock, and gold strap button installed in heel.

This is a great guitar. The attention to detail is wonderful and the sound is very good, smooth, rich, and powerful.
