Description

SN: 31629
Highly figured Maple resonator and neck, with beautiful red-brown color. Nickel hardware, including 4 Waverly main tuners, and 5-star 5th string tuner all with matching Ivoroid buttons. Presto tailpiece. These banjos are constructed with all major components: pre-war style hard Maple rim, pre-war style flathead 20-hole tonering and double-cut peghead with early Gibson inlay motif, and Huber logo inlaid at top. Flat Ebony fingerboard, with simple, traditional Gibson-style inlays. “Mastertone” block at 21st fret is inscribed “Workhorse”. White bindings along fingerboard along top and back edges of resonator.
*This banjo was owned by Isaac Callendar, a noted regional musician, who bought it just to teach beginning banjo at the Nimble Fingers festival.
This banjo has major tone. As Greg says: “it has all the buttery smoothness and power you could want from a great banjo”. We highly recommend this Workhorse as a great sounding, great playing banjo. When you hold any note on any string, the neck and resonator come alive like they are full of bumblebees.
This banjo is like new, except for a few minor scuff marks in the back of the
neck, and discoloration from armrest.
