This 2018 Collings 00-2HG has a German Spruce top, Indian Rosewood back and sides, and a Mahogany neck. The slotted peghead has the Collings logo inlayed at the top in Mother of Pearl. Nickel Waverly tuners with Nickel buttons. Bone nut. The Ebony fingerboard has abalone dot inlays and small pearloid side dot position markers on the bass side of the fingerboard. The Mahogany neck is a nice medium “C” profile. Ivoroid heelcap. Ebony strap button installed in the correct location on the heel.
The German Spruce top has lovely figure and it is in great shape with almost no player wear or marks of any kind. Small tortoise plastic pickguard. Herringbone purfling before the ivoroid binding on the top edge. The Ebony pyramid bridge has a bone saddle and Ebony bridge pins with abalone dots. Interesting soundhole rosette. The Rosewood back and sides are in great condition. The Rosewood back has has a two-line black and white purfling before the ivoroid binding on the back edge. The two-piece Rosewood back is separated by a “zipper” backstrip down the center. Ivoroid endwedge and Ebony end pin with pearl dot.
This is a very nice 2018 Collings 00-2HG in really exceptional condition. It is very hard to find a sign that this guitar has been owned and played. Comes with the original hard case.
