Maple banjo, with figured Maple neck and resonator, and 3-ply Maple rim. Traditional Bowtie peghead, with Hawthorn Pearl logo inlaid at top, and “Gibson Crown” inlaid in center. Compound radiused Gabon Ebony fingerboard with Pearl “Bowtie” inlays. White binding around peghead, and along fingerboard, and top and back edges of resonator. Two concentric rings in back of resonator. Handsome red-amber sunburst with good contrast. Nickel hardware, including old off-set style tuners, like Gibson used in the 50’s and 60’s, with cream tulip buttons. Waverly Nickel 5th string, with Ivoroid button. Nickel 2-hump Clamshell tailpiece.
This is a good, professional banjo that was well engineered, and well built. Nice power and presence. Comes with original hardshell case.
