Exceptional Cond. / “Artist Series”
SN: A210120 / HSC / 1 1/8″ nut
This 2020 Northfield NFA-F52A Mandolin is a beautiful mandolin in exceptional condition. Truly a top flight mandolin with excellent tone.
Traditionally built with figured Maple back and sides, and Adirondack Red Spruce top. One piece highly figured back. Sides, neck, and back are all incredible, highly figured Maple.
This mandolin is fully multiple bound in ivoroid binding with black accent line. The peghead has an Ebony veneer with exquisitely thin and elegant tendrils of abalone inlay. Truss rod access with “Northfield” inlayed ebony cover above a beautifully polished bone nut. Dot position markers on the side.
The Gabon Ebony fingerboard is radiused and it appears to be a 9″ or 10″ radius. It has graduated pearl dot inlays. There are very slight signs of fret wear in the first five frets which can easily be polished out. The fingerboard has an abbreviated extension which is scalloped away after the 20th fret.
The top of the mandolin is finished in a sunburst finish with an amber glow in the middle. The body of the mandolin has a multiple bound Ebony pickguard, attached with two screws. Binding shows black accent lines on the sides and face. Loar-style two-piece adjustable Ebony bridge. There is a very nice tailpiece and ebony strap button.
The back of this mandolin is one-piece and has incredible figure with holographic depth. The neck has a comfortable soft “V” profile. Tuners are Gotoh with Ebony buttons.
This is a beautiful mandolin in both appearance and tone. It is in exceptional condition, and is stage ready. Comes with a nice hard shell case.
