This 2020 ODE Magician open back with a 12″ pot is just like new. Wonderful Cherry Wood neck with Ebony peghead veneer, fingerboard and heel cap. Peghead is shaped in early traditional banjo paddle shape. Center of banjo has a 1936 Liberty nickel inset in center and Ebony truss rod cover near bone nut. The flat Ebony fingerboard has small pearl dots inlaid. The thin walled Maple 12″ rim has a nice Ebony cap on the rim’s bottom edge. The outer Maple of rim shows nice fiddle back figure.
Tuners are H&K with iridescent amber buttons. Notched tension hoop, with 26 hooks and nuts. All hardware, including tuners, are antiqued.
This is a really nice condition banjo that is a rare bird. Chuck Ogsbury, original founder of ODE and then OME banjos, discovered that the ODE name was languishing away. He has resurrected the ODE brand to bring you this banjo… and hopefully more of them in the future.
Chuck and his son, Zen, are currently the only workers at the ODE banjo company.
There are barely any signs this banjo was played. Comes with original OME gig bag.
