This mandolin is a nice find for a collector, casual player or beginner. Simple construction, with metal stamped “Kay” logo. Tuners are in excellent shape. The tuners are Kluson, and they are 4-on-a-plate with original cream buttons. Brass frets in nearly unused condition. Original rosewood adjustable bridge. Original tailpiece. Original cream plastic pick guard has been altered for added-on pickup. The pickup is an old D’Armand Mandolin p/u, and comes with this mandolin.
This mandolin has a pretty sunburst finish, with the original finish in good shape aside from small chipping. The body has painted-on appearance of binding.
This mandolin has good nut, frets, and straight neck with low action and decent sound.
Comes with original chipboard case.
