c. 1900 Stainer Violin

Categories: ,

This Stainer violin has a handsome red-amber finish over an amber brown. Top, back, and sides, appear to be crack-free. There are some rough areas of worn finish around the bridge area. Some overhangs on the top are chipped away. Ebony tailpiece with four fine tuners. Fingerboard reglued. Pegbox has had mechanical tuners attached. These were replaced with blackened pegs and the previous holes filled.

Recent setup with Prim strings and Aubert bridge.

Comes with hard case.

“This is a fiddler’s fiddler” says the Montana violin teacher who demonstrated this instrument on our youtube: https://youtu.be/Sk1eRtq0Tr8
