Exc condition. SN: 49790. 11 13/16″ Pot.
Conversion to 5-string by unknown neck maker.
This is a very nice old early 1920’s Vega Tubaphone with 11 13/16″ pot. Excellent copy neck with beautiful Maple figure and nicely engraved inlays in Ebony peghead overlay and Ebony fingerboard. Original dowel stick is installed in this newer repro neck. All parts original except newer “no knot” tailpiece. Everything is in great shape to play and it sounds great. Four Gotoh main tuners, with Schaller 5th.
Repaired crack in side of neck heel (not broken clear through).
Comes with gig bag. Some new and used hard shell cases available.
And below, here is an audio soundclip from our friend Isaac Callender demonstrating this fine banjo in our store.
