Description

Exc (-) condition. Serial number 267.
Made in Ann Arbor, MI.
This is what many people today would call a “crossover” banjo, meaning it’s predominantly a frailer but has the rim and full flathead tonering of a bluegrass banjo for a little more concentrated power. So, you can frail it or 3-finger pick it. Nicely constructed by the famous Great Lakes banjo folks. Mahogany neck with Great Lakes Banjo Company stamped in back of peghead. Matching 5-Star tuners with cream buttons. Blank ebony peghead overlay and ebony flat fingerboard with Star inlay at 5th and graduated dots. Fingerboard scalloped after 17th fret. 3/4″ rim with 24-shoe construction. 20-hole tradition flathead tonering. Neck attached with two parallel coordinator rods. Nickel hardware. Slight wear on head and slight wear in first position on some frets but otherwise very nice.
Very well made banjo with its original hard case.

Here is an audio soundclip from our friend Isaac Callender demonstrating this fine banjo in our store.
