Width at nut: 1 3/32″.
Adirondack Spruce top. Maple one-piece back, sides, and neck. Dark burgundy sunburst finish, beautiful when the light really hits it. Top of body shows cream bindings. Finish shows old, bold checking. Rosewood flat fingerboard with pearl dot inlays. Small frets. No real wear anywhere on the body, except on fingerboard and frets. Newer adjustable Ebony bridge. Ebony armrest. Rare old-style clamshell cover tailpiece. Original open-back 4-on-a-plate tuners with cream buttons. Very nice bone nut.
Strong and concentrated tone. These ODE mandolins were made in the GTR facility in Nashville, with Bob Givens as the head luthier. These instruments were made on tooling that was handmade by Bob Givens as well.
This mandolin would be worth $1,700-$1,800 but the frets are worn and need attention. For $1,750 would be happy to get this mandolin to the luthier for the fret job at our expense. Either that, or you can purchase it as-is with fret wear and light pits in the fingerboard for $1,395.
Comes with A-shaped hard case.
