These Nechville Athena models are very lightweight resonator banjos. They weigh 6 pounds.
The “pot” of the banjo consists of a 3-ply Maple rim mounted with a Timber-Tronic wooden tone ring. Walnut neck and resonator. Radiused ebony fretboard with elaborate Pearl inlays. Ebony peghead overlay with Nechville inlay at top. Guitar style tuners.
This banjo has the innovative Nechville “Heli-Mount” system that allows for easy adjustment of head tension.
Wow – a well-built lightweight banjo that sounds great… and comes all set up to play. As Lon and I were checking it out we noticed right away that it was easy to adjust and felt great to play. There is one small ding in the neck.
Comes with a good hard case.
