Lovely traditional sunburst. Highly figured Maple back, sides, and neck. Adirondack Red Spruce top. Ebony peghead veneer has tasteful elaborate inlay, with unique hand-engraving inlaid in center. Collings logo inlaid at top. Radiused Ebony fingerboard has graduated dot inlays. Ebony abbreviated pickguard with multiple binding to match top of mandolin. Gold hardware, including Waverly tuners with solid pearl buttons and one-piece cast tailpiece with unique engraving. Traditional Ebony Loar-style adjustable bridge. Major binding throughout. Multiple Ivoroid-black-Ivoroid seen at face of peghead, side of peghead, side of fingerboard, top edge, back edge, and sides of body. All parts original and unscathed. There are really only two mars on the mandolin. One is a bump on the sharp peak of peghead back. The other is a small area of button marks in the back that are very light.
Only the barest wear on frets. No wear on back of neck or on the top. Great sound.
