One of the most popular mandolins we’ve ever sold are the Collings A models. Traditionally built with flamed Maple back, sides, and neck, Engelmann Spruce top. “Vee” profile neck. Ebony peghead veneer has Collings pearl logo inlay at top and Ebony truss rod cover below. Bone nut. Radiused Gabon Ebony fingerboard with graduated pearl dot inlays. Stylized end of fingerboard with two-fret treble extension. Ebony two-piece Loar-style adjustable bridge. Nickel hardware with four-on-a-plate tuners with Ivoroid buttons and one-piece machined tailpiece, nickel-plated. Ebony endpin.

Engelmann spruce top is one of our favorite tone woods for well over thirty years for mandolin tops. They break in fast, and have a strong throaty-ness and presence.

Barely any signs of playing on this mandolin, just a few shines on the matte finish neck and some tiny little touches on the top. It is in very finely excellent condition.
