Good Condition
A-Model / Oval Hole
Refinished / Neck Crack Repaired
1-3/32″ Nut

This oval hole A-model mandolin appears to be a kit mandolin from the shop of RL Givens, ca. early 1970’s. Traditional Maple back and sides with Spruce top and Mahogany neck. Ebony fingerboard and bridge.

This mandolin has had a couple of significant repairs. First, there is a neck break repair behind the first 4 frets. It is repaired very tightly and professionally and feels real smooth at the repair but hasn’t been cosmetically touched up. Next is repair to the top, which had some sinking issues. Reinforcement has been made to the area just below the soundhole, but the area right at lower treble side of oval hole is still springy(it is stable, but can be flexed slightly). The Bridge has had a shim applied to the bottom of the feet.

The top has new black finish as well as toll painting decoration on the top (see photos). The sound is good.

Comes with a hard case.
