This unique, handmade mandolin comes from the mountains of northern Montana, made by our friend the famous folk artist Ray Jacobs. Very attractive asymmetrical Art Deco-style body, allowing fretboard access like a cutaway would. Cedar top with two small soundports at upper left and upper right. Simple one-piece Maple bridge. Dark hardwood flat fingerboard on a V-profile Maple neck. Letter “J” for Jacobs burned in at top of peghead. Rosewood back and sides. Cocobolo binding around top edge. This mandolin is a delightfully fun instrument to play, made as functional folk art. He calls this model Style 6.
