These are pretty hot guitars that are inspired by Depression-era acoustics.

SN: DPA 054  •  25″ Scale Length
1-23/32″ Width at Nut  •  2 1/8″ Pin Spacing

This new Beard Sidecar from their Decophonic line is a Birch plywood back and sides, with an Engelmann Spruce top in a small-bodied guitar. Traditionally built like guitars of the great depression, this guitar is perfectly timed for the great Coronavirus depression. Hand-built. The size is similar to, but slightly different than a “00” size. Finnish Birch plywood back and sides, interesting grain Engelmann Spruce top, Mahogany neck. Top has single Ivoroid binding. Sunburst finish. Darkened peghead has Beard Decophonic logo decal at top. Wooden truss rod cover. Bone nut and intonated saddle. Beautiful reddish Pau Ferro fingerboard and possibly Pau Ferro bridge.  Boxwood bridge pins. Metal screw-mounted end pin. Antique’d 3-on-a-plate open-back tuners with cream buttons. Appears to be Mahogany braces. Interesting advanced braces. These guitar make you think you are going back in time to see brand new 1933 L-00

The Bracing – The braces are engineered to be light as a feather, but very stiff and strong. The sides of the braces are machined to be more like a sculpted “I-Beam”.

Great sound. At first, when brand new, they seem “stiff”, but as soon as they are played-in a bit the warmth starts developing into a nice big voice. Comes with good quality original hard case.
